How I Can Help You
Westminster Counseling
Hi, I'm Marta
I don’t know what you’re going through, but I can imagine that if you have taken the time to search for help, you may be in a great deal of pain. Perhaps your relationship with your partner or with yourself is needing some attending. If that is the case, you are in the right place. As a counselor and therapist in Westminster, I help individuals and couples work through life issues of emotional aches and pains, so they can love themselves and enjoy each other again.
When people come into my office, oftentimes they don’t know exactly how talking about their problems will help anything, but they have come anyway because they didn’t know what else to do. Not knowing what else to do and having a courage to admit it is actually the first step to move forward—towards something different and better behavioral health.
Knowing that sometimes talking to friends and family members brings no avail, my hope is that us meeting can bring at least some clarity and sense of relief to your mind and spirit. Also, my hope is that we can discover and learn together how to support you, guide you, and be with you in an authentic way that feels nurturing and helpful.

Why Westminster Counseling?
Counseling and therapy help with your emotional well-being, stress management, and coping skills. We now know for a fact that unacknowledged and unprocessed emotions such as sadness, fear, or anger will create various symptoms such as chronic stress and anxiety, depression, addictions, depression anxiety, or relationship issues. As a life coach and counselor, hearing clients’ stories and helping them know what they feel and helping them metabolize these feelings has been my passion and my commitment.
Counseling and therapy enhance peoples’ awareness about themselves. Why is that important? Because without us being aware of ourselves we either hurt people who we love or care about, OR we placate to others while neglecting our own needs. Either way, we end up feeling bad and resentful. Through counseling, we can learn how to nurture the most important relationship with oneself, and at the same time how to respect and honor the relationship that we have with others.
How a counselor can help
In counseling, we disassemble and unpack the very distressing situations that happened with your partner, child, family member, friend, boss, or a coworker. Without that “unpacking” these difficult situations somehow become about blame or finger pointing (Who is the bad guy? Who is right? Who is wrong?). Well, that is not helpful. The reason why difficult situations are difficult is so we can learn and grow from them, and so we can build stronger and closer relationships with each other. Unfortunately, sometimes we get too tangled up with life’s challenges, so speaking with a therapist or counselor can help you “zoom out” and see what otherwise would be confusing.
